Northern Expansion - New Centres in Sault St. Marie & Thunder Bay
We are delighted to announce that Accident Support Services partnered with 2 more Police Services in the operation of Collision Reporting Centres in their communities. The Program is at no cost to Police or the City, and is funded by the insurance industry through savings in cost efficiencies and streamlining the claims settlement process.

The Police Services will also now have a state-of-the-art records management and analytical tool with the new Collisions Reporting & Occurrence Management System (CROMS) Analytics Portal. The Collision Reporting Centres will provide enhanced value to the public in the reporting of motor vehicle collisions, both to the Police and to their Insurer, providing them with a “one stop service” opportunity to report. Police will continue to attend collisions involving injury or death, alcohol, criminal activity, vehicles transporting dangerous goods or police vehicles.
Police Chief Bob Davies is looking forward to reaping the benefits of the program in his community. “By implementing the CRC Program, our Service will free up valuable front line policing resources which will assist the Service in achieving our community patrol goals. Reporting the collision in a centralized location will be less time consuming and safer for both the citizens and officers.”

The Sault Ste. Marie Collision Reporting Centre will be located at the Police Station, 580 Second Line East. The hours of operation are 11a.m. to 7 p.m. Mon.-Fri, and Sat. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Thunder Bay Police Chief Robert Herman is looking forward to the new arrangement. “The ASSI partnership with the T.B.P.S. provides an opportunity to improve the service delivery model of our police service to our community. Officers will be freed up from investigating minor accidents and allowed more time to concentrate on our problem oriented policing model that addresses crime and disorder issues that impact the citizens of Thunder Bay.”

The Thunder Bay Collision Reporting Centre will be inside the Police Station at 1200 Balmoral Road. The hours of operation are 11 a.m. – 7 p.m., Mon.- Fri., Sat. 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
