Woodstock CRC is Open and Serving the Public
All of the preparation is complete, and the Woodstock Collision Reporting Centre (CRC) is open to serve the public!
Local dignitaries, members of the Woodstock Police Service and Accident Support Services International Ltd. (ASSI) representatives were on hand for the official ribbon cutting at the entrance to the CRC inside the Woodstock Police Station at 615 Dundas Street. The Woodstock Collision Reporting Centre is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, closing weekends and holidays.

Anyone involved in a collision would still call police, and a dispatcher will ask a series of questions to determine if the collision meets the criteria for the reporting centre.
At the CRC, a member of Accident Support Services' staff will help citizens to complete collision reports, photograph damage of the vehicles and offer customers the opportunity to contact family, and their Insurer. Police will also be available, as needed, to assist. It is an opportunity to get all of their reporting done at once, and get on with their lives quickly.

Woodstock Police Chief Rod Freeman is pleased with the new facility. "I see this as an exciting new partnership that will benefit the citizens of Woodstock in the long run," he said. "This program allows for civilian clerical person to collect the information needed for minor collisions, and frees up front line police officers to do more policing-related duties."

"Statistics will show that this new venture will allow our service to redirect sworn officers' time towards more serious policing issues," said Woodstock Police Services Board Chair Nelson Simard. "As we continue to be fiscally responsible to our taxpayers, this is great news. It is a win-win solution for all parties."
